Political platform statement

Why I am running for this office: As a mom of three and local ER physician, I never aspired to run for public office until the pandemic, when I saw my opponent file a frivolous lawsuit against our state's public health measures. Central Washington needs leaders who recognize that our economy is dependent on the health of our people and our planet. The pandemic's impacts reflect chronic issues in our community, and this moment can be an opportunity to fix things, if we choose to. As a physician, I see that a healthcare system providing comprehensive, universal coverage is not only the right thing to do, it costs less to do so. As a mom, I see that education and vocational training are how we invest in each other, our businesses, and our future. As a small farmer, I see central Washington's agricultural cornucopia as our tool for providing food security throughout our district, and I understand that evidence-based environmental stewardship protects both our planet and our farms. I understand that supporting our industries and small businesses right now relies on cohesive, data-driven pandemic management. In the ER, I witness firsthand how the pandemic has disparately affected certain communities, and I believe we can only achieve liberty when we ensure equal rights to life and the pursuit of happiness. For many families, central Washington is already a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family. It should be this way for everyone. This moment is our opportunity.
